Part of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Heart Reef is composed primarily of coral and centrally located nearby the larger Hardy Reef. It is protected (so no diving or snorkelling) and best viewed by seaplane or helicopter. Great place to make a declaration of love or marriage proposal if you like the spectacular. Flights to Heart Reef also take in the surrounding area including the renowned Whitehaven Beach and tributaries. From the air you can see the greatly contrasting landscapes with the magnificent colour of the water, beaches and coral reefs vividly working off each other.
