Shikiquote – Solar Quote Request Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 22/08/26

These Terms and Conditions apply to all solar quote requests submitted through the Shikiquote website, online forms, advertisements or other Shikiquote services. By submitting a solar quote request, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Shikiquote’s Role

Shikiquote is an independent advertising, lead-generation and quote-request service. Shikiquote does not itself sell, supply, manufacture, install, repair or maintain solar panels, batteries, inverters or other solar products or services. Our role is to collect your enquiry and convey your request to participating solar companies that may be able to provide you with information, assistance or a quote.

2. Referral to Multiple Solar Companies

When you submit a solar quote request, Shikiquote may provide your enquiry and relevant contact details to three or more participating solar companies. The companies contacted will generally be solar businesses that advertise with, partner with or participate in the Shikiquote service and that may service your location or requirements. The actual number of companies that contact you may vary depending on your location, the nature of your enquiry, availability of participating companies and other circumstances.

3. No Preferred or Favourite Solar Companies

Shikiquote does not select, recommend, endorse or favour any particular solar company. Shikiquote does not represent that one participating company is better, cheaper, more experienced or more suitable than another. Companies receive enquiries because they advertise with or participate in the Shikiquote service and not because Shikiquote has determined that they are the preferred company for you. Any decision by you to contact, obtain a quote from, negotiate with or engage a particular solar company is entirely your own decision.

4. Your Responsibility to Assess Each Company

You are solely responsible for assessing the companies that contact you and deciding whether any company is suitable for your requirements. Before entering into any agreement, you should independently consider matters including:

  • the company’s business name and contact details;

  • relevant licences, qualifications and accreditations;

  • the proposed solar system and equipment;

  • panel, inverter and battery manufacturers;

  • warranties and warranty conditions;

  • installation standards and proposed installation methods;

  • total price and payment arrangements;

  • expected system performance and energy savings;

  • government rebates, incentives and eligibility;

  • financing arrangements, if applicable;

  • installation timeframes;

  • after-sales service and support; and

  • the terms and conditions of any proposed contract.

You should obtain independent professional advice where you consider it appropriate.

5. Quotes and Representations

Any quote, price, proposal, system design, savings estimate, product recommendation, warranty, performance representation or other information provided to you is provided by the relevant solar company. Shikiquote does not independently verify or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of such information. A quote provided through a participating solar company does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement by Shikiquote.

6. Independent Solar Companies

Participating solar companies are independent businesses. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they are not employees, agents, representatives, partners or joint venturers of Shikiquote. Any contract for the supply or installation of solar products or services is entered into directly between you and the solar company you choose. Shikiquote is not a party to that contract.

7. Solar Company Responsibility

The relevant solar company is solely responsible for:

  • its quotes and pricing;

  • products and equipment supplied;

  • system design;

  • installation;

  • workmanship;

  • warranties;

  • representations and advice;

  • rebates or incentive information it provides;

  • customer service;

  • repairs and maintenance; and

  • complying with all applicable laws, regulations and industry requirements.

Any complaint or dispute relating to a solar company’s products or services should be directed to that company in the first instance.

8. No Guarantee by Shikiquote

Shikiquote does not guarantee that:

  • you will receive a quote;

  • any particular company will contact you;

  • three or more companies will ultimately provide a quote;

  • any quote will be the lowest price available;

  • a quote will remain valid for any particular period;

  • a particular solar system will be suitable for your property;

  • a solar system will achieve any particular level of savings or performance;

  • a company will complete an installation within a particular timeframe; or

  • any particular solar company will meet your expectations.

9. Customer Information

You agree that information submitted by you is accurate, current and complete. You authorise Shikiquote to use the information provided for the purpose of processing your enquiry and connecting you with participating solar companies.

You acknowledge that participating companies may contact you using the contact details supplied in your enquiry, including by telephone, SMS or email, in connection with your solar requirements, quotes or related services, subject to applicable Australian laws.

10. Marketing and Communications Consent

By submitting a quote request, you consent to Shikiquote disclosing your enquiry and relevant personal information to participating solar companies for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and providing solar-related information, quotations or services.

You acknowledge that this may result in contact from multiple solar companies. Participating companies must comply with applicable laws governing telemarketing, SMS, email and other direct marketing communications.

You may request that future marketing communications cease in accordance with applicable law.

11. Privacy

Shikiquote collects, uses and discloses personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.

Your information may be disclosed to participating solar companies for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.

Shikiquote will take reasonable steps to handle personal information appropriately and for the purposes disclosed to you.

For further information, please refer to the Shikiquote Privacy Policy.

12. No Professional Advice

Shikiquote does not provide electrical, engineering, financial, legal, taxation or other professional advice. Information appearing on the Shikiquote website is general information only and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

Shikiquote may provide links, information or references relating to third-party businesses. Shikiquote does not control third-party websites, services or businesses and is not responsible for their content, availability, products, services or business practices.

Your use of a third-party service is subject to that third party’s own terms and conditions.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shikiquote will not be responsible for any loss, damage, cost, expense, claim or liability arising from or relating to:

  • a participating solar company;

  • a quote or proposal;

  • solar products or equipment;

  • installation, repair or maintenance;

  • system performance;

  • delays;

  • warranties;

  • representations made by a solar company;

  • contracts between you and a solar company; or

  • any act or omission of a participating solar company.

Shikiquote will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss, including loss of income, loss of savings, loss of opportunity or anticipated benefits, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Customer Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Shikiquote and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and service providers against claims, losses, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from:

a. information knowingly provided by you that is false, misleading or inaccurate;

b. your misuse of the Shikiquote service;

c. your breach of these Terms and Conditions; or

d. your conduct or dealings with a participating solar company,

except to the extent that the relevant loss or liability was caused by Shikiquote’s negligence, unlawful conduct or breach of these Terms.

This indemnity does not apply to any liability that cannot lawfully be transferred to you.

16. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights, guarantees or remedies available to you under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, or any other applicable legislation where those rights cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified.

17. Fraudulent or Inappropriate Enquiries

Shikiquote may refuse, suspend or withdraw an enquiry where it reasonably believes the information supplied is fraudulent, misleading, incomplete, abusive, unlawful or otherwise unsuitable for the Shikiquote service.

18. Withdrawal of Enquiry

You may contact Shikiquote to request that your enquiry no longer be referred to additional participating solar companies.

This does not affect any communication or contractual relationship you have already established directly with a solar company.

19. Changes to These Terms

Shikiquote may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will be published on the Shikiquote website and will apply to future use of the Shikiquote service.

20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia and, where applicable, the laws of the State or Territory in which Shikiquote operates.

You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the applicable Australian courts and tribunals.

21. Acceptance

By submitting a solar quote request through Shikiquote, you acknowledge that:

  • Shikiquote is a quote-request and lead-generation service;

  • your enquiry may be provided to three or more participating solar companies;

  • Shikiquote does not favour or recommend any particular solar company;

  • participating companies are independent businesses;

  • you are responsible for independently assessing each company and its quote; and

  • the decision to proceed with any solar company is entirely yours.

Shikiquote’s role is simply to connect customers seeking solar quotes with participating solar companies.
