Little Venice has boat excursions on the Lauch river in the Colmar district with beautiful scenery of quant historic houses, lush greenery and glorious cafes and restaurants. The boat trip is short but sweet, and you can then enjoy a beverage or meal overlooking the river in this fantastic location. A great half day excursion. Best time is March to November. Boats leave from rue de la Herse near the Saint-Pierre bridge. Colmar is 62 km from Strasbourg, France. Strasbourg (below) is a great place to visit in Christmas, possibly combining Little Venice into a trip to this Eastern side of France and nearby Switzerland or Germany will go nicely.
